Due to our high rainfall and Mediterranean climate, internal parasites are a constant challenge. With resistance to chemical controls becoming an increasing problem, we encourage drenching only at strategic times and/or based on faecal egg counts. This should be done in combination with non-chemical controls such as grazing management, genetic selection for resistance and balanced nutrition. We offer in-house faecal egg counting, suitable for determining drench requirements and checking post-drench efficacy. We also offer comprehensive drench resistance testing and recommend each farm conduct this test every 2-3 years. We are happy to discuss and formulate a custom worm control and monitoring program for your farm.
